Blog EntryChineka Macadamias-New Zealand GrownJan 6, '07 4:01 PM
for everyone
Pemiliknya adalah Virginia Warren, seorang ibu yang pernah dapat pernghargaan the 1997 Business Woman of the Year.

Blog EntryBee Sting!!!!Jan 31, '06 4:51 PM
for everyone
Bee sting!! I always remind my children to wear gumboots when they're going to go outside, especially out on the paddock and lawn as we are surrounded by lawns and paddocks. And clovers grow on them. When they are flowering, time like Summer, honey bees always come. You can't sometimes notice them that they are hanging on the flowers unless you have your eyes goggled on each of the flowers or just see them at once when they are flying to the certain place. But here hundreds of them, almost half of the flowers on the lawn have one bee each, it's amazing to see how they can detect this food they need (we don't know where the beehive is, but probably they've gone far enough to just drink the juice!--lucky people who have that beehive!).

Yesterday, I didn't put my gumboots, I thought oh well I could spot these little creatures. I put my jandals on and went to the back lawn to put the washing in. It was alright, and I thought see, I could see them and I moved my feet carefully. And washing done, all in the basket, I was carrying the basket in front of my tummy and I was close to the pavement to get inside. Suddenly I felt something was stinging on my toe and I looked down OMG a bee!!! Still attached on my skin and when I removed the bee, the sting was still there. It was incredibly painful, I tell you. I even couldn't walk straight while was carrying that big basket. I felt that my toe is as big as a basketball! Very heavy that I needed to drag my foot.

I remember when my children were stung by bees or wasps, we always apply tea tree oil and swedish bitters on the infected areas. So I went to look for the medicine bag, still dragging my foot, gasping and hoping it won't kill me! I applied them as soon as I got them.

Here is an article about bee sting that I've found informative. Meanwhile, keep wearing your gumboots when you go outside, no matter how close you are from home as bees are often 'invisible' among the bushes or flowers.

These two products I mentioned earlier are really amazing! They are no chemicals at all, but a mixture of herbs! You can check them out on their website. My toe wasn't swollen as big as a basketball as I thought before, and the pain I felt no more! We always keep these kind of herbal remedies in our medicine bag.

Other healing products which we always use are those from Weleda. They are amazing! Two of the products we often use are Hypercal cream and Arnica cream. They are just fantastic. My kids are very active, running around, jumping, things like that and they often get bruises as the results. Bruises are definitely gone within hours when we apply on the effected areas as soon as they got, cut wounds are closed up with hypercal cream after washed with tea tree oil. Simply NO CHEMICALS!

The pictures belong to ThursdayPlantation (tea tree oil) and SelfHeal (Sweedish Bitters).
